An LRT in Action |
Rapid KL Buses |
A view of the roads I travel |
Out of these, the LRT is the most preffered but has limited connections. Buses are extenseive and KTM commuter and KL Monorel server there own areas. Coming to my solution for transportation, I just have one way - Bus (BAS in Malay). I just hop on in front of my house and hop off at the IKEA stop. The traffic in KL is no less when compared to the other metros, even though the government is taking drastic steps to control it. As a result, I spend a staggering 3 hours in travel each day.
Luckily, in the evenings I have one more option called the BET (Bas Ekspress Transit) which uses the highway and roughly takes 15 minutes. All form of transports whatever it may be are fully air conditioned. The roads are really good and go round and round and round :) .
One thing is worth mentioning here, Jalan in malay means road/Street. I used to see the name Jalan Sehala in many places and was thinking that Sehala maybe a common name or the name of some celebrity, but later I understood it is a One Way Steet :).
As I said, I spent a lot of time travelling around KL even as part of my work and hence at the end of my tenure here, I have almost mastered the routes in all forms of transports to a level even I used to guide the locals :)
